Patriot Scholars are selected through a special application. Priority consideration is given to students with excellent high school records, including SAT scores of 1200 or higher (combined critical math/reading), cumulative GPAs of 3.5 or above and graduation at or near the top of their class.
Individuals may apply to the Patriot Scholar Program during the following times:
- Upon entering the university as a first year student (Incoming Patriot Scholar)
- After successfully completing 30 credits at RMU with a QPA of 3.5 (Continuing Patriot Scholar)
- Upon transferring to the university (Transferring Patriot Scholar)
While each Patriot Scholar is unique, they are recognized for their:
- Advanced critical thinking and written communication skills
- Superior academic performance in a challenging curriculum
- Excellent standardized test results on either the SAT or ACT*
- Commitment to community service
- Demonstrated leadership skills
