RMU Students, Alumnus Receive Award
RMU seniors Brad Grimm (media arts) and David Toole (management), along with former classmate Darin DiNapoli '06, recently received the sole award in the music programs category of the Academy of Television Arts and Sciences Foundation's 28th College Television Awards for a music video the three produced for their advanced television workshop class at RMU last spring. The group's video for local band Identity X's song "Archetype" beat out 80 other entries in the music category of the national competition, the equivalent of the college Emmy Awards, and was the only entry selected from an institution in Pennsylvania.
The three joined students from 23 other institutions across the nation during the awards ceremony that took place in Los Angeles on March 31, and where presenters will included cast members and creative talent from television shows such as 24, American Idol, CSI, Desperate Housewives, Dirt, Family Guy, Prison Break, The Shield and Without a Trace. In addition to their awards, first place winners receive $2,000 in cash as well as $2,000 in Kodak film stock for their projects.
