  • A:You may find several different types of financial aid on your award letter, based on eligibility. Financial aid is divided into gift aid and self help aid. Gift aid is generally grants and scholarships and does not require repayment. Self help aid is aid which you generally earn, in the form of work study or in the form of loans which is money which you borrow and is paid back with interest.
